Review

The cystic masses in this case were fat necroses, caused by autologous fat transfer. As outlined in Cases 21 and 37, the characteristics of each of these shadows won't be forgotten after the first case experience. However, unless a case like this is approached open-mindedly, taking into account that two methods of breast augmentation can be undertaken simultaneously, it is more than likely to cause confusion. In cases where a patient notifies their clinic that they have had breast augmentation, the radiologist who confirms with them specifically that it was by both silicone bag prosthesis insertion and autologous fat transfer methods will gain greater trust from them instantly. In cases where a patient provides no notification of breast augmentation, it is of course necessary to confirm this in stages.
